Quickap QR Code for tables: how to activate it and increase average spend
With Quickap's QR Code on your tables, customers access the digital menu, place orders without flagging down a server, and the order lands straight in the dashboard. Here's how to activate it.
A table with a QR Code completely changes the dynamics of the dining room. Customers don't have to wait for a server to see the menu. Servers don't have to memorize or explain every item. And the restaurant captures orders in an organized way — no paper, no risk of anything being forgotten.
How Quickap's QR Code works
Quickap's QR Code is automatically generated in the dashboard and points to the restaurant's digital menu.
The customer flow is simple:
- point the phone camera at the QR Code;
- the menu opens in the browser — no app download needed;
- the customer browses categories, picks items and add-ons;
- submits the order;
- the order appears in the Quickap dashboard with the table identifier.
How to activate the QR Code
In Quickap, the QR Code is available as soon as the menu is set up.
To use it at tables:
- access the Quickap dashboard;
- go to "Link & QR Code";
- download the QR Code in high resolution;
- print it and place it on the tables — in a picture frame, as a sticker, or in an acrylic stand.
It is also possible to generate QR Codes with individual table identifiers, so orders arrive in the dashboard already labeled with the table number or name.
What the customer sees when scanning
When scanning the QR Code, the customer sees the full digital menu:
- photo and description of each item;
- price and variations;
- available add-ons;
- allergen information, when configured;
- button to add to cart and check out.
The menu works on any phone without installation. The experience is fast and visual.
What arrives in the dashboard after an order
Every order placed through the table QR Code appears in the dashboard with:
- table number or name;
- ordered items with variations and add-ons;
- total amount;
- order time;
- status (new, being prepared, delivered).
The server or attendant follows along in the dashboard without writing anything down. The kitchen receives everything directly.
How the QR Code increases average spend
When customers browse the menu at their own pace, they tend to:
- notice items they would have missed on a worn-out printed menu;
- add a dessert or drink on impulse;
- reorder more easily;
- place a second order without needing an available server.
| Situation | With printed menu | With Quickap QR Code |
|---|---|---|
| See a product photo | rarely | always |
| Order during peak hours | wait for a server | does it independently |
| Add a dessert afterward | has to call someone | taps and adds |
| Average ticket | lower | tends to be higher |
Other uses for the QR Code beyond tables
Quickap's QR Code can also be used on:
- packaging: the customer receives it at home and already has access for their next order;
- printed menus: QR Code on the back or at the bottom of the physical menu;
- marketing materials: business card, flyer, team shirt;
- social media: as a bio link or Stories linking to the digital menu;
- storefront and window display: so passersby can browse before walking in.
A well-configured table sells more without needing more staff
Quickap's QR Code does not replace human service. It removes friction from the parts the customer can handle on their own — browsing, choosing, and ordering — and frees up the server to focus on hospitality and handling special situations.
The results tend to show up in two metrics: fewer order errors and a higher average ticket per table.
