How to set up automatic delivery fees by distance in Quickap
No more calculating delivery fees manually on WhatsApp. In Quickap you define zones on the map, assign a fee per range, and the customer sees the amount before placing the order.
Calculating delivery fees manually is one of the most frustrating parts of running a delivery operation. The customer sends their address, you open the map, estimate the distance, do the math in your head, and send the amount back. Meanwhile, the next customer is already waiting.
In Quickap, the delivery fee is calculated automatically based on distance. The customer sees the amount before placing the order — no need to ask anything.
How automatic delivery fee calculation works
In Quickap, you configure delivery zones in the dashboard with a flat fee per distance range.
The process works like this:
- you define the coverage area on the map;
- you assign a delivery fee for each zone or radius;
- the customer enters their address when placing the order;
- the system automatically calculates which zone the address falls in;
- the delivery fee is shown to the customer before they confirm.
No back-and-forth on WhatsApp. No manual calculation. No room for error or misunderstanding.
How to configure zones in the dashboard
Quickap's delivery area configurator works via map:
Option 1: radius by distance
You set a radius from your address. Example:
- up to 3 km: $5.00;
- from 3 to 6 km: $9.00;
- from 6 to 10 km: $14.00;
- over 10 km: not served.
Option 2: custom zones
You draw the area manually on the map and assign a specific fee for each polygon. This is useful when your operation serves neighborhoods with different charges based on route characteristics (traffic, actual distance, etc.).
Free delivery above a minimum order value
You can also configure free delivery for orders above a certain amount — encouraging customers to add more to their cart to save on the delivery fee.
What the customer sees in practice
When the customer opens the menu and starts building their order:
- they enter their delivery address;
- the system checks the zone;
- the delivery fee amount appears in the summary before confirming;
- the customer decides whether to complete or adjust their cart.
There are no surprises on the delivery fee. This reduces cart abandonment and post-order complaints.
Benefits of automating delivery fee calculation
| Manual situation | With Quickap automatic |
|---|---|
| Customer asks for the delivery fee on WhatsApp | sees the amount in the menu before placing the order |
| You calculate and send the amount | calculation happens without any action from you |
| Customer questions the price | transparent rule visible in the order |
| Calculation error during peak hours | impossible — the system always calculates the same way |
When not to deliver: how to set a delivery limit
In addition to configuring the zones you serve, you can also define the maximum limit.
When the customer's address is outside the configured area, the system automatically informs them that the region is not covered — without you having to reply manually.
This prevents accepting orders from far-away addresses and then running into deadline or unviable delivery cost issues.
Setup in less than 5 minutes
The delivery area module is directly in the Quickap dashboard. To configure it:
- go to "Delivery Settings";
- open the map;
- define your zones or radius;
- assign the fee for each range;
- save — the rule takes effect immediately.
From that point on, all orders will have their delivery fee calculated automatically.
